Investments in community infrastructure bear fruit for Mouvement Aquatique Laval
The Government of Canada supported a community project in Alfred-Pellan
March 26, 2019 – Laval, Quebec – Key members of the community have long called for a concrete and lasting contribution to the community’s recreational facilities. The Government of Canada is proud of its supports for projects such as Mouvement Aquatique Laval that contribute to the vitality and dynamism of every region of the country.
The $53,500 in funding provided through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program allowed Mouvement Aquatique Laval to make major upgrades to the Val-des-Arbres pool, which they use for their activities. Thanks to the federal contribution, the pool has a new filter and the peripheral plumbing, waterproofing membrane and deck have all been renovated.
The MP for Alfred-Pellan, Mr. Angelo Iacono, came to see the results of the work that brought this community infrastructure back up to grade. He pointed out the importance of investments like this, which, in the case of the Val-des-Arbres pool, attract more than 3000 visitors annually. François Courtemanche, Director of Mouvement Aquatique Laval, said that these funds will allow his organization to keep offering its activities for many years to come.
