Encouraging young women in the world of Canadian politics
Be part of the 2019 cohort of the Daughters of the Vote project
October 12, 2018 – Laval, Quebec - Angelo Iacono, MP for Alfred-Pellan, invites women aged 18 to 23 from his constituency to participate in the Daughters of the Vote initiative by applying to be one of the 338 leaders who will come to Canada’s Parliament in April 2019. One participant will be selected to represent the riding of Alfred-Pellan and will be able to share the vision of the future for our community and for Canada.
The Daughters of the Vote initiative provides a unique opportunity for young women who want to go into politics and make a difference. It is a chance for them to learn about Canada’s political institutions and the people who work in Canadian politics so that they can one day enter the political arena.
Participation by women in politics and civil society is a vital resource that helps Canada prosper, so it is essential to support young women in their political aspirations. Consequently, Angelo Iacono, MP for Alfred-Pellan, encourages young women from his constituency to take their place in the world of Canadian politics by participating in this initiative. Anyone interested has until November 22 to apply.
