Taking advantage of government resources to export Canadian know-how
March 25, 2018 – Laval, Quebec – Companies in Laval are benefiting from unparalleled access to world markets thanks to free-trade agreements that link our entrepreneurs to over 1.5 billion consumers.
Alfred-Pellan MP Angelo Iacono is stepping up his efforts to help companies in his riding to export their expertise. The commercial diversification strategy for companies in Alfred-Pellan that the MP is deploying has put local companies in touch with Export Development Canada (EDC) and the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS).
With a presence in over 165 cities around the world, the TCS helps Canadian companies to succeed on world markets by, among other things, providing information on foreign markets and facilitating partnerships. The EDC helps Canadian companies to take advantage of international opportunities through insurance and financing solutions and through bonding products.
Entrepreneurs’ response to the information session was positive, and some twenty people came to discuss business with representatives from the EDC and TCS. It was also a good opportunity for the entrepreneurs to talk with MP Richard Hébert, the Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Export Promotion, who attended the session.
Alfred-Pellan MP Angelo Iacono is proud of how successful his initiatives to help riding businesses have been. Informing local businesses of the resources available provides support for their ambitions on the international scene. It also acknowledges the creativity and hard work put in by local businesses that dare to take risks. That is why Mr. Iacono continues to help our local businesses’ efforts to make their expertise shine on the international scene.
