Supporting our business community with the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy
Federal government continues to help entrepreneurs in Laval
November 23, 2020 – Laval, Quebec – Since the start of the crisis, Laval’s businesses have shown perseverance and resilience during challenging times. As the pandemic continues to affect Laval’s business community, our federal government is launching the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS).
With this new subsidy, businesses in Laval will have access to simpler and more accessible rent and mortgage assistance into 2021. The CERS can provide those hardest hit with a subsidy of up to 65%. An additional 25% subsidy is available to local businesses that had to close their doors because of public health measures.
“Our federal government continues to be there for Laval’s business community. We keep supporting local businesses by offering programs that are tailored to their needs. More importantly, we’re helping them preserve and create jobs here in Laval,” explained Angelo Iacono, MP for Alfred-Pellan.
Businesses and community groups in the riding of Alfred-Pellan can now submit their CERS applications through the Canada Revenue Agency for the qualifying period of September 27 to October 24, 2020.
