Personal protective equipment for essential services

July 22, 2020 – Laval, Quebec – As Laval’s economy restarts, the federal government has introduced the Essential Services Contingency Reserve to make personal protective equipment (PPE) available to organizations and businesses providing essential services that still have not been able to secure the supplies they need.

The Essential Services Contingency Reserve will help those organizations bridge urgent, short‑term PPE gaps, once they have exhausted all other possible sources of supply, to avoid any disruptions in services to Canadians. Eligible associations and organizations will be able to apply online for a range of equipment, available for purchase at cost.

Alfred–Pellan MP Angelo Iacono is asking eligible Laval organizations and businesses with urgent, short-term PPE requirements to apply online starting August 3, 2020. Full details about the Essential Services Contingency Reserve, including the application process and eligibility criteria, are available on Contingency Reserve’s website.

The reserve is another important component of the support delivered to Canada to help it fight COVID-19.

Quote

“The pandemic has disrupted the global personal protective equipment supply chains, leaving some of Laval’s organizations and businesses without any. Our government is making sure that those who urgently need PPE have access to this vital equipment in order to restart our economy safely.”
