Experiences Canada 150 &me

Experiences Canada 150 & Me offers young Canadians aged 14 to 19 an opportunity to participate in the national debate about the future they want for Canada. Several new regional youth forums will be held across the country in the spring of 2017 and will conclude with a presentation of the results of this reflection in Ottawa from June 27 to July 2 and a volunteer participation in the festivities that will take place during this week of celebration Canada's 150th anniversary. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2017.

House of Commons Page Program

Each year, 40 students are selected from high schools and CEGEPs across Canada to come to Ottawa to work as Pages in the House of Commons. Pages have the opportunity to learn about the House of Commons while witnessing the legislative process first hand.

Those hired as Pages work on a part-time basis during their first year of study at one of the universities in the National Capital Region.

Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP)

The FSWEP provides opportunities for youth who are enrolled full-time at a secondary and post-secondary institution to work in a variety of summer and part-time jobs.

Many government departments use this program as a recruitment tool to hire full-time students. The opportunities offered may be for part-time work all year round or during the summer only. Employment opportunities in our region include Guide interpreter at Rideau Hall as well as jobs providing assistance to tourists as a Capital information officer or tour guide.
